I specialize in working with families that are going through severe difficulties that result in destabilization of the entire family system. Oftentimes these circumstances can become the consuming center of family life, leading to isolation and loss of a sense of identity outside of the parenting role. I enjoy working with parents who want to thrive even when their children and teens cannot. I strive to provide support and insight to parents encountering some of life's biggest parenting challenges.
I provide a trusting environment for my clients, and take a warm yet direct approach to our work. I help clients to discover their internal resources that help them to weather whatever life puts forth. I aid clients in combating the emotional upheaval that hardship brings, and I assist clients in building more connection as a foundation for stability.
Chronic family issues can lead to shame about not being able to fix it. It can be painful to watch other families do well while yours is suffering. Oftentimes others won't understand the complexity of the issues you are facing. The grief that comes with these circumstances can feel insurmountable. Child to Parent Violence and Abuse Support Group
I run a weekly support group for parents of children with severe emotional and behavioral difficulties. This group is a space for those experiencing Child to Parent Violence and Abuse (CPVA), so that they may find help and support from others dealing with similar dynamics in the home.
