I believe all psychological symptoms serve a function, such as regulating emotions, avoiding distress, or maintaining interpersonal connections. In therapy, we will identify the functions of your symptoms and find healthier ways for you to meet your needs. This often involves exploring the interpersonal contexts in which your symptoms developed and are maintained. In this way, we will identify what's getting you stuck and make way for you to have new emotional and interpersonal experiences. My therapeutic style is collaborative, warm, curious, and empathic.
I specialize in working with anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, perfectionism, relationship issues, eating disorders, personality disorders, and severe and persistent mental illness. I offer individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and group Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). In addition, I provide personality, cognitive, and ADHD assessment.
I believe it is a powerful experience to be able to show up as your authentic self and feel understood. In therapy, we will welcome in your full range of thoughts, emotions, identities, and values. This will enable you to strengthen your sense of self, build self-compassion, and connect with others in a more genuine and fulfilling way.
