Hello! My name is Christine Paprocki, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist licensed in Washington State, specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders in individuals and relationship distress in couples. I take a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, meaning that I will work with you to examine connections between patterns of thinking, behavior, and emotions that can contribute to difficulties you may be experiencing. In treatment we set specific goals, track symptoms to better understand their impact on you, and discuss exercises to apply skills learned in therapy to your daily life.
Anxiety can become a bigger issue when you feel like your life is getting smaller and more isolated because of it! In therapy we can help reverse that trend, finding ways to start to approach things that you may be avoiding. We will do this at a structured pace that works for you, according to your own goals and priorities.
I really enjoy working with couples – we will discuss strategies for de-escalating conflict and build skills for more deeply listening to each other’s perspectives. Many times conflicts can repeat and feel exhausting. In couple therapy we figure out how to transform these conflict scripts into discussions that feel constructive and increase closeness.
