My overall goal of therapy is holding you accountable in a nonjudgmental way that supports your goals, validates your efforts, and challenges you in a way that aligns with your worldview. I like to offer feedback in an objective way and suggest skills and perspectives that you choose whether or not to implement. The methodology of my approach is conversation; two people in a room trying to figure things out while utilizing various perspectives, theories, and attempts. An emphasis of my time with you is always you; your goals, thoughts, emotions, and beliefs are valuable and I find exploring them in a therapeutic setting helpful.
I have a strong passion for working with women, members of the LGBTQ+ community, non-traditional couples, as well as adolescents and young adults as they seem to progress through the launching phase. I have also found it satisfying to help those with trauma backgrounds overcome how this may have impacted their sense of self and relationships.
I love working with couples on finding new conflict resolution skills collaboratively and finding what maintains negative cycles. In addition, I love helping queer folks and polyamorous individuals and couples to resolve any issues around their identity or overall functioning. Internalized messages from external systems is also something I explore.
