Hello and welcome! My name is Julia Walker and I am an LPC at Project Ember Initiative honored to work with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. I enjoy working with those who are struggling with self-confidence issues, identity exploration, interpersonal conflict, and symptoms of trauma. I have experience working with survivors of sexual assault and relational trauma and have found this to be a passion area of mine, as well.
I primarily work from a client-centered, trauma-informed, and emotion-focused approach that can be adapted to meet your specific needs. I also offer EMDR therapy for those who would like to process trauma from a different lens. When working with children and adolescents, I find it best to utilize experiential activities that include therapeutic play and art.
I believe everyone has the strength within to work through their own challenges, even if it takes another perspective to help guide you through. My goal as your counselor is to warmly give you the space to feel heard and understood without judgment and allow you time to heal in the way that works best for you.
