Humans are relational. This means we are wired to be loved and accepted by those around us. We live among imperfect people, however, so our experience sometimes becomes hurt from unmet needs. The results then become unproductive patterns in our relationships, negative behaviors, a lack of positivity, and a sense of being stuck. For me, the goal of counseling is to heal past hurts and to process how those hurts affect our current choices and relationships. Once we free ourselves from the hurt, anger, guilt and shame of the past, we are open to feel love and to love others.
I consider it my honor to walk your journey towards healing with you. I have experience working with adults, families, and couples working through a variety of life's struggles: unresolved childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, hurt in relationships, betrayal, miscommunication, grief, abuse, and even pre-marital work.
My approach to counseling starts with building a safe space with the client in which they can begin to feel known. The goal is to experience freedom from the overwhelming emotions that feel hopeless and become the best you. I also offer board approved supervision services for LPC-Associates getting hours towards full licensure.
