Look, no one expects to feel horrible during pregnancy or after having a baby, but a lot of moms and parents do. You might even be having thoughts that feel overwhelming or scary to you. Early parenthood, Postpartum, pregnancy, loss and fertility can come with feelings of overwhelm, worry, sadness, anger, frustration, and not feeling like yourself. And sometimes your partner doesn't understand either, or everyone just expects you to be happy and grateful. That's too much pressure and it's not real life. You need to feel heard, understood and supported. And you need skills and tools to help your healing.
I'm a psychologist certified in Perinatal Mental Health and have dedicated my work to helping hopeful and new parents. I host the Mom and Mind Podcast which is focused on shared stories of postpartum depression, anxiety, and more. I've also created a course for new moms that is focused on helping you understand what's going on and learn how to cope.
It is hard to take the first step to therapy, not knowing if the therapist will understand or know how to help. I do get it, I know first hand what this phase of life can be like. And I know you can feel better because I see healing happen with my clients. Just because you feel bad, doesn't mean you are bad and I can help you navigate this new phase of life.
