I am passionate about advocating for clients through a trauma-informed lens by being a Certified Trauma Professional and a trained EMDR practitioner. My approach to therapy is primarily rooted in Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, and other trauma-orientated approaches, however I enjoy adapting to each clients’ needs. I believe cognitions or beliefs derived from early experiences influence behavior and how someone might view themselves, others, and the world. This pattern can be brought to awareness in counseling and through the use of techniques as well as compassion, can be transformed to be more desirable to you and your goals.
The clients I see most often are either late adolescence, young adults, or adults and experience symptoms associated with trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem and interpersonal challenges. I have previously treated clients in community and home-based mental health settings to further assist in prevention or stabilization post-psychiatric hospitalization.
