Therapy is a journey of self-discovery, becoming who you are meant to be, and I am here to share this courageous "deep dive". Are you ready to make conscious those things you already feel so raw and vulnerably in your body, to seat your feelings so close as to live to the point of tears? Like picking up a new and unfamiliar musical instrument, the first necessary step is to begin, does not matter where, or how, poorly or well. Beginning is difficult, we are reluctant to take that first close-in, brave step to reclaiming the happiness of actually having started. Living to the fullest is my goal for all of us.
I have over 18 years of experience working with people with severe mental health and substance abuse issues. The types of therapy I provide are relational psychoanalytic/psychodynamic therapy. I also have extensive training and experience in trauma-informed, behavior modification, parenting and attachment-based treatments, and emotionally-focused therapies.
I invite you to join me in a dialogue, the process of "creative engagement", through which many of my patients have come to understand their emotional conflicts and the source of their distress; they feel recognized, supported, and cared for; they overcame anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors, trauma and addiction.
