We all arrive to therapy with unique needs, hurts, and wishes. We may not even know what we are seeking, just that life is not feeling good. My goal as a therapist is to be a partner in the journey – we may not know the path, or even the destination. Therapy can help reveal forks in the road, grieve parts of the trail, or even give us the courage to trek on. We can process trauma and define what it means to heal. We can develop a greater sense of self and a deeper connection with others. My ideal client is someone who wants to learn about themselves, but maybe feels unsure of where to start.
I approach each therapy relationship with compassion, curiosity, and authenticity. I prioritize understanding how suffering almost always exists in the context of identity, lived experience, and core values. In my clinical work, I strive to support clients in facing big feelings and deepening self-awareness.
My specialties include trauma, depression, identity, and caregiver stress. In my practice, I integrate psychodynamic theory, relational approaches, ACT, and DBT. I am also trained in EMDR, a therapy that can be helpful for trauma-related concerns. I am committed to providing services that are racially responsive, queer affirming, and culturally attuned.
