I am a seasoned individual and group psychotherapist who loves her work. I am guided by the belief that, most of the time, we have our own answers, but sometimes we need help uncovering them and trusting our own judgment. Depending on your needs, we may: 1) work psychodynamically (explore your history and how it influences your current life), 2) work cognitively and behaviorally (explore how distorted beliefs affect your feelings and behavior), or 3) work to resolve difficult experiences by weaving back and forth between the 'here and now' and the past.
My style is warm and collaborative. Issues I work with include changing relationship patterns, navigating life transitions, reworking distorted family-of-origin beliefs, and raising self-esteem and self-confidence. I also enjoy working with 'people-pleasing,' defining boundaries, and healing from grief and loss. I love my work; your call is welcome.
I am a strong believer in the power of groups and lead several women's groups. I work to select members who have good self-awareness and can be good learning partners for each other. Group offers a unique opportunity to learn more about yourself while benefiting from the support and perspective of other members. www.womenstherapygroupsseattle.com

The goals of relational psychodynamic therapy are to increase self-awareness and understanding of how the past has influenced your current life. From there, we become freer to experiment with new ways of being. When you take a risk and do something differently, it becomes part of who you are. Old patterns are interrupted, and new ways of living are created.
